Bill,

I have looked briefly at some of the Shaw's in that area, and have come to the conclusion that there must be some connection as the older ones seem to come from New York.

A good number of the Shaw's are up at Whitewater in Perry County about 5 miles from Higdon, and at Libertyville in St. Francois County.
