Thank you Gary for your help. This is all mixed up I know. LaFayette Bickmore was the son of John S Bickmore and his wife Rosanna (or Anna) Wood Bickmore. As far as I can tell he was their only child. John married again and had two more children. However, for some unexplained reason Lafayette took the name of Baxter. Some records show Bickmore/Baxter. His death certificate does show Bickmore, but it appears that the name Baxter was blotted out and Bickmore was written over. The newspaper obit does show both Lafayette (Lafe) and Eva as Baxter. It also gives Emma's name as Emma Cross which I believe was her maiden name and Wilson her name from a prior marriage. According to the 1930 census, Lafe and Emma were living in Canton with their child Wayde age 1 1/12 and Arthur Wilson, Lafe's step-son. Does any of this make any sense to you? I am searching the Cross, Wilson, Bickmore, and Baxter families trying to see why Lafayette went by Baxter. I would appreciate any suggestions and thank you ever so much for your help on the cemetery. Renee
