Thank you for the informative follow up. Sorry I have been so long in contacting you as I left for a visit to relatives in Germany on March 15th.
Eli Charles Withers was a son of Ernest A. Withers and Elizabeth G. Garkie. Elizabeth being my great aunt a sister to my great grandfather Eli Garkie married to Sarah Alamarine Kesner.
I would love to share information with you as I have all the names you mentioned in my files. I have researched my Garkie-Shackleford genealogy for six years now and find that most families having arrived in Lewis Co., MO in the early to mid 1800's are connected in some way to each other.
