I will try to list all I know in chronological order with as much as I about each event, including census information.
My 3rd Great Grandfather A.F.C. Anderson m. Minerva J. Bright 12 Mar 1846 in Marion County Missouri (Marriage License states that groom is of Shelby County) Civil War record states he is 45yrs old at time of discharge in Little Rock Arkansas (1865) and is from Mason County Kentucky. I have hit an absolute brick wall on finding him before 1846, parents and siblings. There is no 1850 Census on them that I have found
They had 4 Children:
Phillip Kennedy b. 18 Apr. 1848
Susanah B. b. 28 Jan 1849
Mary Alice b. abt. 1852
Edward Raymond b. 6 Feb 1854 (My 2nd G Grandfather)
Now heres the big twister:
Phillip m. Lilly C Tully 2 Times! Source is Marriage License on File at the Knox County Missouri Courthouse:
1 Feb 1872 and 12 Nov 1879, According to the 1880 Census of Hedge City, Knox County, Bourbon Township, Phillip and Lillie had a son; Emory, 7yrs born abt. 1873. This Makes sense, due to the fact that his father A.F.C. owned about 160 acres around Hedge City.
1900 Census, Emory is living with parents of Lilly as a boarder. No record since 1880 that I have found for Lilly nor one for Emory after 1900.
Now to turn back a little: 1870 Census; Knox County, Fabius Township, Edina Missouri: Phillip K. is living with parents A.F.C. (allen) & Minerva, age 23 Occupation (Blacksmith)Born in Missouri. Census taken 14 June 1870.
1870 Census: Knox County, Salt River Township, Novelty Missouri; Phillip K. age 22 living with a physician B. Hamilton. Born in Missouri. Census taken 27 July 1870. Remember, I am assuming from family writings in which it is stated that the Phillip I am looking for was born 18 Apr. 1848
Above is part of the twister? Obviously I am looking for the Phillip that is living with A.F.C. and Minerva ( my 3rd G-Gparents) It Gets Better.
10 Nov 1889: Knox County Courthouse Marriage License; Phillip K. Anderson m. Emma Smith
In 1900 Clarence, Shelby County, District 157.
Phillip K. b. Apr. 1848 married 10 yrs. b. Virginia
Emma Wife b. Mar. 1853. Census taken 13 June 1900
1900 Shelby County, Taylor Township, District 164.
Phillip K. b. Apr. 1848 living as a boarder """Unable to read name of Household""" Married 12 yrs, b. Missouri Occupation Blacksmith. Census taken 18 June 1900.
So, yea, these are only a couple of my brick walls! How can you have 2 Phillips in the same vicinity with apparently close birthdays and same occupations?
I have been working on this for over a year...
If someone could help...
