Hi,

I looked in Ancestry and FamilySearch for his death certificate but there wasn't any information about his death. Death certificates weren't required until 1910 so I didn't really expect to find it.

There isn't a genealogical society in Lawrence County to refer you to to find an obituary. Sometimes the place of burial is included in the obituary. Sometimes local genealogical societies index local cemeteries.

I think your best bet is to do a Google search for Lewis County Missouri Cemeteries and look through the web sites that appear.

You could also contact the Missouri Genealogical Society and see if they have obituaries that old.

Also you might want to update your profile and add your email ID so volunteers can contact you directly. Successful Searching!
