According to the Lawrence Co Missouri Marriage Records:
Killian, J A (Neosho) to Dora E Piper (Aurora) 21 July 1890 by J J Martin, Minister of Gospel, Vol F/23 of Lawrence County Marriage Records, Mt Vernon Court House, Mt Vernon, MO 65712
(LCMO Marriage Records 1890-1893, Vol 5, p 16)
I have 15 Marriage Books from Lawrence Co MO Historical Society and could not find another marriage for Dora Piper or Dora Killian from years 1890 to 1912, so she could have remarried in any of the surrounding counties later on. You should check w/area Court House records at Barry, Newton, Jasper Counties for an annulment or know where she remarried.
If the 2d marriage is recorded as Dora Killian, she just got a divorce. Only if she took back her Piper maiden name would it have been annulled when she married her second husband. Divorces are not listed on line for Lawrence, Barry or Newton Counties, so a trip there looks like the inevitable.
Look for a Probate of her Father's Estate to see if she was listed as an heir named Dora Piper Killian or just Dora Piper?
