Hello,
You need to check out the Federal Bureau of Land Management website for John Dennis as there are between 10-16 or more in the name of John Lewis alone.

If you know his middle name initial there are quite a few more!

Go to www.glorecords.blm.gov and type in your Dennis Surname. You can also filter for the Given name of "John" but will probably have better luck with just the surname.

I did see a John Dennis in Dade County, MO.
