Thank you so much for the info. This all helps me put a "face" to Charles Allen. Having his diary makes me feel as if I knew him.
I have a copy of his death certificate and his entries in his diary show he waited and was ready for death for quite some time. It's good to see his wife is buried with him. He details how he met her and corresponded during the war.
I was able to find a copy of his pension record but that's all.
