Monett Annual Reunion - 12 Pioneer Families, 9/16/2007

Attention! The gathering of the 12 Pioneer Families Reunion will be held 3d Sunday weekend September on 16 September, 2007. The Reunion will be the meeting of family members, relatives and family friends of the 12 Pioneer Families of Southwest Lawrence County, MO., that has met since 1934.

We bring a covered dish (any type of salads, veggies, meat, desserts) and spread tables for a buffett style luncheon. The time is 12 o'clock with Lunch served at 1 p.m. A short business meeting is held at 2 pm for business of election of officers, announcements and recognition of travelers, newcomers, and most "senior/junior" members. We try to adjourn in time for visits to Boucher, Dry Valley, Mt Olivet Cemeteries.

12 Pioneer Family Ancestors include descendants of:
Gabriel Boucher & Mary Smith of Allen Co, KY (Boucher Cem)
John Smith Boucher, a son of Gabriel Boucher & Mary Smith, left Lawrence County, Mo to settle first in Hunt Co. Texas 1855-59 and then in Stephenville, Erath Co. Texas! John Smith Boucher married 1841 to Elizabeth Hurley Barry Co..

Albertus & Tobias Bright/Brite families of Allen Co. KY

Leonard Cagle & Eliz. Smith; her sister Abigail Smith m
Sam M Hewlett, dau's of Drury Smith & Jane Motley of TN.
Henry Cagle married Martha Hewlett, d/o Sam M Hewlett.

Samuel Moseley Hewlett of Hopkins Co. Ky/Davidson Co. TN organized Lawrence County May 1845 with George Brite & Reuben Woods. Abigail Smith was 3d wife and raised 5 Step children plus 5 children by Samuel M Hewlett.

Oliver Perry Mann & Jeannette Moody, d/o Issac Moody

Isaac Moody & Malinda Bonner; his daughter married O P Mann

Jordan A Morris; Newly restored Jolly Mill lists Sidney Lewis Morris and Emory Hughs Morris families!

Moses Pruitt & Candis Omohundro, both of Allen Co. KY
(a trip to Piece City last week uncovered the burial location of Moses & Candis Pruitt in Lawrence Co!)

Joseph Schooling - founder of Schooling Cemetery

John Spilman & Mary Boucher of Allen County; She is d/o Peter Boucher & Sarah Goodnight and niece to Gabriel Boucher of Allen Co. KY. JS & MB married 1816.

Benjamin Woods & Elizabeth Winters - est. Dry Valley Cem.

Edward H Wormington & Asa Wormington - est Wormington Cemetery in Newton County, MO.

Our current Reunion Roster lists 38 of 50 States (and growing) and 290 plus descendents related to one or more and as many as 5 direct family connections. We celebrate our family ties and friendships with one another and share family photos and histories!

Our 75th Reunion will be held September 2009. It will mark the celebration of the publication of ALL 12 Family histories in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of favorit son, John Jasper Spilman's 1909 "Spilman Family History" book.
