Looked thru our marriage books. Can't find a marriage for Charles and Elsie. Them living around Plew, they might have been married in Jasper County, Carthage.

Geo. Emerick, 46, LaRussel to Cleo Peebles, 28, La Russel, 15 May 1934 at Mt. Vernon by AL Mosby, Minister O-402.

Couldn't find any obits. News from the edge of the county is scarce.

Land. On a 1930's plat map, C.O. Emerick owned 80 acres 3/4 of a mile north of Plew, 40 is section 19 and an adjoining 39-89 in section 30. The roads that went thru the protperty no longer exist. The same land in 1959 is owned by E.E. Emerick. I suppose that's Charles Jr's wife Elsie E. Emerick.
Hope this helps,
