States: Missouri: Lawrence
It does make a difference what time period you are researching. Originally the northwest corner of Lawrence county was Green(e) Township (1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses). In 1871, the eastern part of Greene Township became part of the new Lincoln Township, but the northwest corner was still Green(e). In 1894 Red Oak Township was formed from the western part of Green(e) Township, so in 1900 and later, Red Oak Township is in the northwest corner and Green(e) is on the east side of Red Oak.
