Has anyone heard of the Green Branch Community? I think it was either in Laclede Co. or Taney Co. MO, but I've had no success Googling it. An unidentified paper I have on the Sappington family says on p. 380 that the family of Joseph and Eliza Crockett were "a southern refugee family who, in 1860, came to the Green Branch community to escape the war." I haven't been able to bring up a thing on this. It must've been a good refuge from the war, because I haven't been able to locate Joseph & Eliza (James) Crockett in the 1860 census. None of their children were married by then and should've still been home.They should've been in either Taney Co. or Laclede Co. MO in 1860.
Any help would be very much appreciated!
