Edward Hill

I am seeking info on Edward Hill, my great grandfather.
The only public record in which he has been found is the marriage license dated July 24, 1887.

The marriage was at Carterville and performed by Rev. A. J. Campbell. Can anyone identify him or the church he served?

Edward was at Belleville and over the age of 21.

I have checked the 1880 census records and can not find an Edward Hill of the right age in Joplin so he must have come there from someplace else.

His wife was Dorothy Alice Jones aka Dora A. Jones. In the 1880 census she is living with her family in White Rock, MacDonald, Missouri.

The 1890 census was destroyed by fire.

In the 1900 census Dorothy is a widow. She and the two children are living at 402 Wall Street in Joplin. Dorothy is a dressmaker. Charles and Adaline Upton are listed at the same address and Adaline is a dressmaker.

Pearl Alice Hill was born March, 1889. Can anyone pinpoint the date?

William Lee Hill Sr, my grandfather, was born July 6, 1891.
He was named for his uncle William Lee Jones.

Family lore says that Edward Hill was a miner. He may have died in a mine accident which would explain the lack of a grave.

Can anyone tell me when and where Edward Hill died and where is he buried?

I would also like to find out the identity of his parents and where and when he was born.
