There are a few possibilities here.
First, though I am not sure if there was a cholera epidemic when your person died, it is possible there was a mass burial and the names were not listed.
Secondly, it is possible the burial was made and the headstone was either not placed, or was placed and was subsequently lost/destroyed.
Third, the burial may have been made in a cemetery on a farm or family cemetery and there is no record.
Lastly, Glasgow is right on the Howard County and Chariton County border. In fact, the northernmost part of Glasgow is in Chariton County. It is possible the burial was made in Chariton County.
I did consult the book "Howard County Cemetery Records", which was compiled by Louise Coutts and Karen Boggs in 1994, and there was no entry for your person.
I hope this has helped to some degree.
