Thank you for looking. I have since found out from another source that he was killed in northern Saline Co., MO near New Frankfort. Apparently the person who wrote me the information about New Franklin confused the two places. According to other people, including author Duncan Hansen who has also searched for Yager's burial place, he lies in an unmarked grave. The accounts of various people who knew Yager tell of the manner of his death but don't mention where he was buried or who buried him. He did have friends and relatives in both Howard and Saline Co. who may have buried him so Howard Co. is still a possibility , though it's more likely his grave is near New Frankfort.
