Mary Evans was the daughter of Pleasant Lilly Evans. She had a brother named John Evans, b. abt. 1820. Her mother was Hannah Miller, daughter of Henry Miller and Elizabeth Wisdom. We believe Pleasant's father was Thomas. Pleasant was the father of three sons who joined the Southern raiders because Union soldiers shot him in cold blood (July 1862, Howard County, S33, T 51-N, R14W). He lingered for 12 hours urging his sons not to take revenge. They joined anyway. If this is your line, send me an e-mail and tell me from which leg you descend. Mary's brothers were James, Francis Marion, John, George, Thomas, and William.
