Civil War in Henry County
Posted by: Lorrell Louchard (ID *****5401) Date: January 11, 2010 at 14:28:30

I am researching my grandfather, William James HARRISON and associated families. William married Mary Ellen WHITE of Calloway County and they lived near Clinton during the Civil War. Franklin Peter WHITE, William Dudley LEE and John T. KIRK were married to William's sisters, and also lived in or near Clinton. After the war, my gr-grandmother, Margaret HARRISON and her son, Marion, also lived for a time near or with the other families. I am interested in finding out more about the history and geography of Clinton and Henry County in order to flesh out my ancestors' stories. I'm particularly interested in the details of how the Civil War impacted Clinton.
