Hello: I do not know why, but I do not remember reading your email before today! Can you tell me where you received your info on the Crenshaw Mansion being used to hide slaves? It is a matter of great controvery locally whether the mansion was used to hide slaves or Union soldiers (hiding from the Confederates or bushwackers). When the police went there in 1917, there were secret passageways and hidden rooms all over the house. I can't imagine why the secret areas would be there except to hide slaves, but I would like to have some documentation or other info to back up the slave hiding story. Please contact me if you have anything at all to tell me. Thank you so much. Brian
