If you still do lookups for Gentry and Worth Co. ; I am desperate for help!
I am trying to find my ggggrandmother's grave , cemetery and or funeral in paper.
In 1860 Margarethe, or Margarette, or Margaret Hughes was living with her youngest son , William Hughes and his family . It was in 66 twp, ( that is what it was called back then ) Gentry, MO. It listed her as Margarette 70 born abt.1790 in Ireland.
By 1870 William and family are found to be in Union, Worth Co. Mo. and Margarette Hughes is not with them.
By this; I am thinking that she died somewhere in 1860 to 1870 and is buried in 66 Twp. ( which is called something else today) Gentry Co. MO. or they buried her in Worth Co.
In 1880 and 1890 William and family are in Hartford Twp. Iowa, Iowa.
Then in 1910 William was widowed and living with his daughter Clara and son-in-law George Stryker in Delta , Colo.
I have his death certificate and it says that he immigrated in 1847, Natualized . It also says the name of his parents Mother - Margaret Pierson Hughes , father- H. Hughes
William would have been about 16 when he came to America.
I would think that his mother would have come with him , because his father died in Irish famine .
If you can help me with finding her grave, please let me know what you find.
Maxine from Iowa
