The obituary as follows is from the New Haven Leader of April 25, 1940.

William E. Pryor was born May 6, 1848, and came to Missouri about the year 1870. He was married to Catherine McKeehan June 2, 1872. His wife and three children, William E. Jr., James S. and Lula, preceeded him in death. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Woods, Mrs. John Voyce, Miss Carrie Pryor and Mrs. Charles French, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Pryor was a news dealer in New Haven for about 46 years. His death occured April 13th, in the 91st year of his life. Funeral services were conducted April 16th, and burial was in the New Haven Cemetery.

Pryor, his wife Catherine and daughter Carrie V. are buried at the New Haven Cemetery, sharing one tombstone.
