Also, per book committee chairperson, you have to include your name with the submission and only one submission per submitter. If you have a 2nd, 3rd or more stories, then you have to have have another person submit it for you. Sadly many of the earlier settlers are going to be omitted because of their ties to the same descendant who may be the only one who would like to include them in the book but does not want to show any partiality to one particular family or branch of their family.

My husband has ties to 12 or more families, several who were very early settlers not only of the community they lived in but of the county. I refuse to let someone else get the credit for a family story submission that I wrote or even did all the research on for our particular branch of the families.

I've heard from others who are shocked by the ruling because they too are in the same situation and as such has decided to not participate.
