Old Fox Creek Cemetery - FYI
Posted by: Rebecca Lehr (ID *****6029) Date: November 23, 2007 at 14:19:23

Was just reading an old issue from the Ozar"Kin from the Ozarks Genealogical Society, dated Summer 1990, Vol. XII, # 2 on page # 66. They make note of the Old Fox Creek Cemetery in Douglas County, near Livingston. It says that there were as many as 30 to 40 markers there at one time, until cattle knocked over the fence and started to graze there. However, there are still (as of Summer 1990) some tombstones standing and no lost into the ground.

Henry Wyatt - S/O Christian Wyatt
b. May 2, 1851-5
d. Dec. 5, 1866

James N. Burris
b. Nov. 16, 1855
d. March 1927

NOTE - James served in Co. b, 46th MO., Inf. - which is listed on his tombstone

Madison Burris (On the same tombstone with James listed above) - no dates for this person

Just thought I would pass this informaton for any folks interested.

Sincerely,
Beca
