Mike, my name is Dale Frye, my mother is Thelma (Johnson) Frye. She was born near a place called Smallet, MO. This was a Country Store and Post Office near Rome. Since Smallet and Rome are no longer on the maps I will do my best to direct there:
Take hi-way #5 South from Ava about 5 or 6 miles just past Spring Creek to, I believe a county road A. A starts here at a T. It is another 5 or 6 miles to where Smallet was.
This the same route of the Flaming Fall Review that Douglas County brags about called the Glade Top Trail. Continue on
route A until you come to Beaver Creek. This is I believe where Rome was.
