Tammy, thanks for your research and suggestions about the possible parentage of Dora Jones Moore. This has been a real challenge to pinpoint exactly who her parents were. As I mentioned in my posting, I suspect that the parents of Dora and her siblings Mary and Euel are the William E. and Caroline Jones listed in the 1870 census of Dade Co. MO, since these names match up with the children listed there, but I can't square this with the obituary reference that her parents are Andy and Frances Jones. Your theory that Andy may be the Burket Jones who is shown in the same census as living next door to William and Caroline Jones is interesting and something that I'll pursue in my research.

I'd like to solve the identity of Dora's parents before embarking on detailed research about possible ancestors in the Jones family. Have you donated a copy of your voluminous research on the Jones family lines in Dade Co. to the Dade Co. library? I recently visited the library in Greenfield and was impressed by the extent of Dade Co. genealogy records maintained there--I'm sure they would appreciate receiving a copy of your research work.

Regards, John Reid
