Help needed - visiting Crawford Co MO in Oct.

I am visiting Crawford Co on Tuesday Oct 23 looking for records of an ancestor Thomas J Waits (Wait, Waite, Weight(s), Waight(s), Wate(s),..), his wife and children. He is in the 1880 and 1900 census records for Crawford Co. (as "Thoas Weight" in 1880 and "Thomas J Wait" in 1900). The 1880 census lists his wife Elizabeth J and many children. He was living in Phelps Co in 1870 and likely moved to MO in about 1867 from Ohio. He was born in PA in about 1828. One of his sons is living in Crawford Co in 1900 as well - Lee Waits b. 1859 in OH ("Lou Waits" in the census transcription) and his wife Mary M and four children.
Is there a genealogical society representative I can speak with (or email) about Crawford County genealogical resources and where I best might find birth, marriage, death, tax, land ownership, cemetery, etc. records?
