Thomas and Matilda Smith Pitts were born in TN. circa 1820. They married in Alabama in 1836. Children born in Alabama were Rhoda,1838; William C., 1840 and John, 1842. They moved to Missouri abt. 1843. Children born in Missouri were Drury Wilber, 1844; Mary Elizabeth,1845; Thomas Samuel, 1847; Matilda, 1850; Marion Lafayette, 1854; Hyrum aka Henry, 1858; Lucinda Catherine,1860; Eveline,1862; and Francis aka as Frank,1865. They were in Butler County, MO. in 1850, Iron County, MO. 1860, Crawford County, 1870, Phelps and Crawford Counties in 1880. In 1900 they were in Crawford and St. Francois Counties in MO. where they remained for the remainder of their lives. Since my first message was posted I have learned quite a bit of additional information. If you think you are connected to any of this family I would like to hear from you.
