I am searching for information on William C. Wells of Cooper County, MO. If possible, I would like to learn his wife's family name and the date of their marriage. So far, here's what I have found.

All of William's known siblings can be found in Cooper County, MO up to 1880, but can't find them on the 1870 census. They are, Henry, Rebecca [wife of Tom Harris, who died during the Civil War], Michael and Catherine. Looks like Rebecca is the only one who married. There is also another brother who was born between 1813 and 1818 that I have no name for. He is accounted for with his parents on the 1830 and 1840 censuses in Cooper Co., MO.

1884, March 3rd - Missouri Death Certificate - The name of the physician on William’s death certificate was L. C. Miller [Dr. Lee Miller was the doctor who rode with Quantrill’s Raiders. He lived in Knob Noster next door to my gr grandfather D.N. Saults. Eliza Rucker married D.N. Saults and her two children were both named after Dr. Miller - they were Charles Lee Saults and Lena Alice Saults. Also, Elizabeth Rucker can be found on the census with William C. Wells in 1870 and 1880. From our family notes, we know Elizabeth Rucker was sent to “cousins” after the death of her parents during the Civil War. Her parents were Charles E. Rucker and Margaret Ann Brim of Henry Co., MO.]
