Haleys 1820s Boonville area brick wall Virginia roots

I have hit a "brick wall" from my Haleys in Missouri. I have found Thomas Allen Haley, my great-great grandfather, born December 19, 1820 in Howard County, Missouri, died April 2, 1890, buried in Mt. Herman Baptist Cemetery near Boonville, Missouri. His wife was Elizabeth Benson. His siblings included William R. C. Haley, born Feb. 28, 1817 in Tennessee, and died May 20, 1857, in Moniteau County, Missouri; James W. Haley, and Elizabeth Haley.

Thomas and Elizabeth had children including James Morgan Haley, John Benson Haley, and William Haley (my great grandfather).

I have leads suggesting that his father was born in Virginia, and that his mother was named Mary and was also born in Virginia, apparently around 1795.

There are lots of Virginia Haley families but I need the missing link... Any suggestions will be appreciated.
