COOPER, DUNCAN, & WAGERS FAMILIES, HILLSBOROUGH DISTRICT, ORANGE CO, NC, 1790

On page 94 of the NC 1790 Census, there is a William Cooper in the Hillsborough District, Orange County, and a John Duncan in Hillsborough Town, Orange County. On page 54 of the 1790 NC Census are one Dawson Wagers and one John Cooper. Between 1811-1820, John, Joel, Thomas, and William Cooper (all born in 1770s) removed to Richland County, SC. An 1850 Richland County, SC, court record proves that (1) Dawson Wagers' daughter Elizabeth married a John Duncan (Jr.?); (2)John and Joel Cooper are brothers;(3) John Duncan who married Elizabeth Wages is their cousin; and (4) their mothers were sisters.

A great mystery may be solved if anyone can provide just one little clue on (1) wives and children of William Cooper and John Duncan of Hillsborough; (2) wives and children of Dawson Wagers and John Cooper; (3) where the Coopers and Duncan families lived before Hillsborough, Orange County; and(4)the names of the sisters who married _____ Cooper and ______ Duncan?

If anyone has any information on these Orange County families, I'd love to hear from you.
