I didn't look in the 1860 census. I don't know how to do that. I do know that they were married and living in Perry Rawls MO when Eddie was born in 1866. I only found on LDS that Edward Richard Graves was born to William Graves and Mattie in Perry Rawls MO. I really need to find her marriage certificate to William Graves. It does make sense that she couldve had the maiden name of Maddox however, I looked in VA. and MO. for a Mattie Maddox born to a James Maddox and Margaret and could not find it. SHE is certainly a mystery. If I could find him on a Muster Roll somewhere in MO. then possibly I can have an explaination why he isn't with Mattie in 1870 and she is with the Maddox family from 1870 to 1883. Now, I do know when Eddie turned 17 years old she remarried Benjamin H. Bowels because that was in a family bible but no official record of her marriage to William Graves although he is listed as the father of Edward Richard Graves. I don't know anything about looking up census'... How would I do that? I've gotten my info from you and my cousin. You sent me the 1870 and she the 1880 census where she is still living with the Maddox family. This has been driving me NUTS for a few months now.
I am unable to do research in MO. I would appreciate any help you could give me.
