Thank you, Nancy, for posting the additional information about James H Hale.
Been busy and not following up on other Estes links. Now researching Gospel Hymns--authors and musicians-- and stories behind the songs.
I have also been inquiring into my Chickamauga Cherokee links through Maria Proctor & her mother, Susan (Brown) Proctor. I want it more for the historical link rather than to get 'into the tribe'. I am only 1/64th since Maria's Grandfather, Alexander Brown, was a half-blood Cherokee himself. He moved from Georgia a long time before the "Trail of Tears", which is why he was in SW Missouri.
I have not been a good cousin, (don't write, dont call) it was good to see your "name in print" again!
We are having an "Estes Fest" at Ruth's in Amarillo in October 07. Write if you want more info.
