Hi Judy,
I have the line pretty clearly on my McDaniels back to the 1700s. My William Jasper McDaniel was the son of Andrew Jackson McDaniel and Elizabeth Hiles. Andrew was the son of William McDaniel and Matilda Shipman.
There is another line of McDaniels that are probably related at some point, but are seperate by the time they get to Christian County. And in that line is a William Jasper McDaniel. Perhaps that is your line? I can't recall the particulars on them at this time. But there is alot of use of the same names which has created a great deal of confusion for researchers. Its also possible that one of my William Jasper's siblings or cousins could have had a child with that name as well. I haven't found any that I can think of...but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
