The fact that most records use only initials makes complete certainty impossible.
I strongly suspect that E. Rathbun who married B. Davis in 1894 was the Eugene Rathbun who married Maggie Cornog with a Christian County license 2 Dec 1898. I know, from the personal property tax records, that Eugene had left Christian County by June 1, 1898. Marriage records indicate the place where the license was obtained, not the place of residence.
I believe that this is most likely the family in household 82 of West Dallas Township of Webster County, Missouri in 1900. The members were E. Rathbun husband born May 1872 married two years, M. E. wife born December 1868 married two years, mother of one child who is living; and Vernie son born June 1896. Although they do not list a different surname for the child, the fact that the wife says she has a living child and the child in the household was two years old at the time of the couple's marriage makes me wonder if he is her son from a previous marriage. Otherwise, it must be his son from a previous marriage, and her child is living elsewhere.
The question is not clarified in the 1910 census in which they are living in household 58-61 of Dallas Township, Webster County Missouri. Here, it gives Eugene Rathbun age 37, merchant, married once for 14 years; Maggie age 36 married once, one child and that child is living and son Paul V. age 12. There are a number of discrepencies in age and length of marriage, but this seems to be the same couple. I would suspect that you would need to seek information on Paul Vern Rathbun to learn whether he was born from Eugene or Maggie's first marriage. He appears to be 30 moths old at the time of Eugene & Maggie's marriage.
I find no lead in Christian County records to indicate whether Maggie Cornog was her maiden name or a name from a previous marriage. The 1860 and 1870 censuses show a Margaret J. Cornog, daughter of Edward and Nancy, but her birthdate was 1857, not 1867. I don't find any Cornog marrying a Margaret or Maggie in Christian County before 1898.
If my assumptions are correct, the marriage of B. Davis and E. Rathbun would have ended before December 1898, possibly by her death. I would not know what the B stand for.
If you decide to search further, the cemetery records of Webster County list these among the burials in Marshfield Cemetery. Perhaps you can find an answer though an obituary.
Paul V. Rathbun 21 Jun 1896 - 17 Dec 1979
Eugene Rathbun Mason 1871 - 1952
Maggie J. Rathbun 1867 - 1940
