As far as I know, some of the nine children of William Monroe "Bill" & Lillie Ruth (Macomb) Hale are still living. Their son Clifford lived just off the Ozark square for many years. He died a year or so ago. You can see read the story submitted on their family on page 106 of "History and Families of Christian County, Missouri". If you want more, you may still be able to buy a copy of "In the Attic" by their daughter, Imagene Eddings. The back of that book, published in 1995, gives the order address as: Imagene Eddings, Rt. 1, Box 387, Gassville, AR 72635. According to Mrs. Eddings, "Bill" Hale was born in Protem and he and Lillie moved their family to Christian County from Garber, MO - so you may want to look for the family earlier in Stone and Taney Counties.
