Christian County Bald Knobbers
Posted by: Kim T Date: March 03, 2001 at 12:19:12

I am looking for any and all information about the Bald Knobbers that were in Christian County. Specifically those involved in the murders that resulted in the executions of Dave and Billy Walker and John Matthews. I know that John and Jack Hiles were involved and a few Nash boys. Looking for names of others involved and any information on thier family trees.

Dave Walker was my ggggrandparents' brother-in-law (his wife was Sarah Shipman, my ggggrandmother was Matilda Jane Shipman her sister). Billy was Dave and Sarah's oldest son. John and Jack Hiles were probably the brothers of another gggrandmother of mine, Elizabeth Hiles-McDaniel (she married Dave and Sarah's nephew Andrew Jackson McDaniel). Elizabeth's mother was Catherine Walker, who I suspect is related somehow to Dave Walker, but I can't find how. The Hiles family lived next door to Dave's parents home.

Thanks for your help! :-) Kim
