It appears that the marriage record here has the correct name for the husband of Mamie Harless. A William H. Cobb is listed on 1900 Christian County MO census in South Marion Township, birthdate Sept 1879 in household 72 with his sister Hattie G. born June 1877 and her husband George W. Adams born Jan 1872. From the 1880 Christian County census Linn Twp household 222, they appear to be children of Samuel & Emeline E. Cobb, ages 25 and 19. The children's ages and Hattie G.'s name are the same, but William H. is listed as John.
The Hall index gives a William Cobb who died June 4, 1905 and was buried in Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield. Without the dates from the Cemetery or the full story, I can't guess whether this is the same man. It is a very common name. You might seek researchers on Samuel & Emeline Cobb's family or try to find the birthdate of the William Cobb in Hazelwood Cemetery to see whether this might be your ancestor's first husband.
