My great grandfather, Hugh B. PHILLIPS, took as his third wife 25 Aug 1886 in Christian County, Missouri Mrs. Malinda "Mindy" MALLETT. This surname does not appear in tax, census, burial or other marriage records in Christian County. I don't know "Mindy"'s age except that she and Hugh had daughters born in 1887 and 1889. She had apparently died - there is no divorce record in Christian County, Missouri - before Hugh's fourth marriage in 1896 in Newton County, Arkansas. I have never been able to discover her maiden name or to learn how or why she was in Christian County. Does anyone know of a MALLETT who married a Malinda who probably was born sometime after the mid-1840's?
