Squire D, William J or Malinda Moore

Hi, I am trying to find the parents of my ggggrandfather Squire Davis Moore (1832 - 1882). I am currently following a trail of breadcrumbs that has lead me to Chariton Co. According to the website oregonpioneers.com, Squire arrived in Oregon in 1852. There are a number of Moores also listed on this site that arrived the same year. That list is here: http://www.oregonpioneers.com/1852_AM.htm. There are two other names on this list that interest me: William J and Malinda Moore. I have an Nov 1852 newspaper article listing people that died on the Oregon trail the previous year. This list includes: "Malinda Moore and William J Moore, Chariton co Mo". I have three possible connections between these two people and my Squire Moore: 1) These three Moores all travelled to Oregon in 1852
2) I have a census record from 1850 St Louis listing M. N. Moore age 56 Female and Squire D Moore age 19 Male
3) Squire's youngest two children are named William and Malinda. Note: both the 1852 traveller and Squire's daughter have their names spelled with an 'a'; Malinda not Melinda.

One other data match I have is that the 1850 census listed about shows Squire to have been born in Va and I have 1904 bio sketch of Squire's son (my gggrandfather) that indicates Squire was born in Wheeling West Virginia. (West Va was split off from Va in 1863)

So I am looking for a family or families of Moores that lived in Chariton and/or St Louis between 1832 and 1852.

Any help would be appreciated,

Dave Coate
