Since my posting in 2004, I have found much information on my George Mann, and it looks like we may have two different families here. My George Mann was indeed born in 1859...to be exact Sep 11, 1859 possibly in Camden Co. Mo. Also my George Mann's middle initial was "W" not "F", I do not know what the "W" stood for but my George's father's name was William and his mother's name Lucinda Carter both born in Kentucky abt. 1818, before coming to Missouri, and were married in Lincoln Co. Mo. My George W. Mann married Alice Clara Capps 1882, also in Lincoln Co. Mo. George and Alice must have moved frequently as their children were born in Cedar, Hickory, and St. Clair counties in Missouri. George and Alice are buried in the ElDorado Springs City Cemetery, Cedar Co. Mo. What brought George and Alice to the Cedar Co. Mo. area I don't know...could it be extended family...perhaps your Mann's from near-by Vernon county...I don't know, but I do not have any of the Mann's you mention in my database.
