Sorry that it has taken so long to get back to you. I hadn't posted anything and didn't realize that I had not changed the email address. I tried to send a reply and it would not let me log on. I finally went thru my Familytree maker program and was able and was able to change my log on information.
I would question the first marriage that you list as a possible for James as he would have only been 14. It would have been unlikely that he would be getting married especially to a widow or divorcee. Also, I have a transcribed copy of the 1870 Cass Co census and it lists John Harper (14) as a separate resident in the household meaning that he may have been a nephew or a cousin.
I had always thought that all of James' children were step siblings of Amanda. I didn't sink in to me that Albert was not on the 1880 census. After I saw your posting I went online and found the birth record for Albert on the MO Secy of State site. I think that 1882 is the first year they have. He was born March 24, 1884. He was born to Alzany(different spelling, yet) Prine Harper (38) and James M Harper (50). He was the eighth child of this mother (more questions!!) James is listed as a Teamster. Albert was born in Marysville, Nodaway Co. MO.
In April 1929 Fannie Inman was in Alameda, CA, George was in Souix City, Iowa, and Albert was in Omaha, NE according to Amanda's obituary. In the 1850 Cass Co. census there is an Alcina Prine (5) Parents are listed as Daniel (61) and Katherine (38).
The Barnetts and the Prines - Harpers have given me more questions than answers.
