The Henry G. Bingaman family lived in Carter Co. pre 1870, with 1st wife, Margaret Cohea and after 1878 with 2nd wife Sarah Elizabeth Irvin GILBREATH. Sarah was a "grass widow". Henry and Sarah had one son Frederick before leaving Carter Co for Nevada, Mo. where they had a daugh. Sarah (Sary)E., then they moved to Baxter Co.,Ark. where Nancy (Nannie) E. was born 1883, they moved to Howell Co., Mo. where Lora, Sherman and Lula were born. They lived on a farm at Bakersfield, Mo. just over the Ozark Co. line. After Henry(a Union CW Soilder) died 1892, Sarah E. married a Francis M. Hickam, they moved back to Carter Co.,where Frank was killed in a logging accident around Van Buren. Sarah moved back to Howell Co., Mo. where she married two (2)more times, a Mr. Lair and a Mr.Potts. Daughter Lora E. married William Taylor, moved back to Van Buren where she died just two weeks after her marriage. Mr. Taylor moved to Okla.
Sarah E.'s parent were James E. and Mary Mayberry Irvin of Carter Co. Bingaman was from Illinois but I understand he had lived in Carter County prior to the Civil War, then returned to Illinois to join up. Bingaman had a relative, Green Bingaman that lived in Reynolds Co. from abt. 1870 until...
I have much info about these families and would love to exchange. Thanks in advance...
