Some messages post the parents of Annie Eliza(beth) James and her brother Charles Meaks James as William James and Reliance Boothe. William is the right name, but the WRONG William. Reliance Boothe was NOT their mother.

Annie Eliza (Elizabeth) James was daughter of William James (b 1813 in Va) and Nancy Jane Winn (b 1823 in Tn.) Annie married Theodore Freeling Heicent Rose (b.12 Nov 1845 in Tn)and became the mother of my maternal grandfather William Vincent Rose,(b 23 Jan 1873 in Norborne,Carroll Co., Mo). Annie's brother, Charles Meakes James was b.06 Mar 1852 in Carrollton, Carroll Co., Mo. Charles married Phoebe Ann Smith on 25 May 1875. Phoebe was b.24 Oct 1855 in Coloma, Carroll Co., Mo. They became the parents of my maternal grandmother, Mary Emily James, who was b 19 Nov 1875 in Mandeville, Carroll Co., Mo. My maternal grandparents, William Vincent Rose and Mary Emily James were first cousins through Charles Meaks and Annie Eliza James. All these families are found in the Federal Census 1870 & 1880 for Carroll County , Mo. Morris Township, Bowers Post Office. In 1880 Charles and Phoebe lived next household to his parents, William and Nancy Jane (Winn) Rose. She was known as "Nanny"

SOURCES: Much of this information has been copied from my grandparents' family Bible and other family sources. US Federal Census, Carroll Co, Mo. Morris twnshp 1860,1870 1880
