Columbus J. Smith had a son named Ambrose, right?
An Ambrose Smith married Nancy Jane Duke. They had a son named Columbus, as you will see below. It seems likely that Ambrose would name a son after his father.
Ambrose and Nancy J. were first in Izard Co., AR. and then apparently in Yell Co., AR, when Ambrose died in the late 1890s. Nancy's daughter Emma was eventually married to my grandmother's brother, John W. Anderson in Yell County. John and Emma Anderson are buried in the Tyro Cemetery of Lincoln Co., AR.
