Hi, Gary, Re: Mexican War: Moses J. Renfro actually joined from Kentucky. Again, we don't know how or why he ended up in Callaway, MO. Although there are a few other Renfros in Callaway, we haven't found a strong connection to any, yet. Two men testified in Callaway on Moses J.'s pension papers; they were George Level and James J. Rogers. But other than those names, who swore they had known Moses and that he died in St. Aubert, we don't know of anyone he knew there. Re: Higbee, MO: From the pension papers for the widow of Moses J., we did learn that Mary Ann Renfro had moved to Higbee and had lived with her son-i-l until her death. Their obits don't say where Moses J. is buried. Thanks for all your help. I think the mysteries of where Moses J. is buried, and why he had been in St. Aubert, and where there might be an obit on him will stay mysteries! My ancestor lived with him, and we had hoped to find out if Moses J. was my ancestor's father or uncle. Rita Notify Administrator about this message?
