MRS. ANNIE BRANCH, NATIVE OF COUNTY, DIES SUNDAY
Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Branch, 79, a lifelong resident of Callaway County,
Died Sunday night at 11:55 p.m. at her home east of Holts Summit.
She had suffered a stroke on New Year’s Day.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Union Hill
Baptist Church at Holts Summit with internment in the church cemetery.
The Rev. C.W. Dorman will officiate. The body will lie in state at the
family home from 3 p.m. Monday until the hour of the service.
Mrs. Branch was born in Callaway County near Holts Summit April 3, 1877,
The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.T. Rigel. She was married on
September 16, 1894, to Samuel Wesley Branch, who survives.
Survivors besides her husband are six sons,
Clint and Wilburn Branch of Holts Summit;
Otto Branch of Tebbetts; Ernest Branch of St. Louis; Herbert Branch of Beardstown, Ill.; and James Branch
of Jefferson City; six daughters, Mrs. Herod Stafford
of Tebbetts; Mrs. Herman Barnes of Millersburg;
Mrs. Chester Jett of St. Louis; Mrs. Herluf Havrum,
Mrs. Delmus Crump and Mrs. Jake Tussey of Fulton;
one brother, W.L. Rigel of Eldora, Iowa; and 55 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren.
One daughter Mrs. Ben Knife, preceded her in death.
