OBIT: Samuel Wesley Branch, died on 1 March 1960 Source: Newspaper article, name of paper is unknown, Missouri --------------------------------------------------- Samuel Branch Dies At His Home Near Holts Summit Samuel Wesley Branch, 88, retired farmer and long-time resident of Callaway County died about 10:30 p.m. yesterday at his home four miles east of Holts Summit. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Union Hill Baptist Church. The Rev. C.W. Dorman will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Claypool Funeral Home, new Bloomfield, from 6 p.m. today until time for service. Born on March 26, 1871, in Morgan County, he was a son of James Daniel and Bell Findley Branch. On Sept. 16, 1894, he was married to the former Miss. Ann Rigel, who preceded him in death. Surviving are six sons, Clinton, James and Wilburn Branch, all of Holts Summit, Herbert Branch, Beardstown, ILL, Otto Branch, Tebbetts and Ernest Branch, St. Louis; six daughters, Mrs. Harold Stafford, Tebbetts, Mrs. Herman Barnes, Millerburg, Mrs. Chester Jett, St. Louis, and Mrs. Hurley Hayrum, Mrs. Delmus Cramp and Mrs. Jake Tussey, all of Fulton. One brother, Luther Branch, Fulton—one sister, Mrs. Bell Buckner, Jefferson City; more than 50 grandchildren; and more than 50 great grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Ben knife, preceded her in death. Notify Administrator about this message?
