Better late than never. Not sure if this relates to your family, but there is a TILLEY family in the MO State Butler Co census of 1876:

James TILLEY age 25 and Susan M. TILLEY age 17, probably husb & wife. No clue what her maiden name was. You might phone Poplar Bluff Library and ask for a look-up from reference desk to see what families were enumerated above and below.

This census record is published in book form "1876 Missouri State Census for Butler County-copied from original census containing name and age of all residents plus the agriculture return" (transcribed census), and I believe the citation is on pg. 190 of that.

I'm afraid I have no further info for you; that comes to me connected with something else! Hope it helps.
