Looking for info. on my great uncle's family.
S.D. Brown
Wife: ??
Children:
Rollie Tearl Brown born ca. 1890 Dekalb, Buchanan Co., MO.
(OR may have been born in Dekalb Co., MO. ???)
Wm. Edward Brown married Irene ____ and moved to CA.
had daughters, Betty & Nettie.
Betty married Ken Collins.
I have a letter dated 1924 written to Rollie T. Brown
from his father "S.D.Brown".... at the time Rollie was living in OKLA. and S.D. was living with his other son
Wm. Edward in Kansas City, MO.
All of them were Carpenters / Bricklayers.
From 1891 to 1896 tax list for Dekalb, Buchanan Co., MO.
there is a S.D.Brown.
shortly after Rollie was born in 1890 he and his brother
were sent to live at a Catholic Orphanage in St.Jospeh, MO.
His mother must have died around 1896 ????
When older I find them working as Carpenters in the St.Joe
MO. area.
By 1924 Wm.Edward, his wife, Irene, and daugthers Betty and Nettie AND S.D. Brown were living in Kansas City, MO.
Family is said to be of Irish descent.
Family states that Rollie donated money to the Catholic Orphanage when he became sucessful in business in OKLA.
But I do not know anything about the Orphanage.........
