Since I posted the original when I was brand new to all this, I am bumping it with (hopefully) better info that might catch someone's attention and give me a clue. This is what I know so far: My grandfather Jesse Daniel Harmon, son of George H. Harmon, who was son of Daniel/David Harmon. I tracked from myself to Daniel/David fairly easily. The only info I have on him is from census reports, marriage record, etc. He says he's born btw 1790-1801 Tennessee One of his children's death certs says he's from Nashville The earliest census I find that I am certain is him is the 1850 one because it lists George H. Harmon as his son. In 1850 he was living in District 2, Johnson County, Illinois. He has a wife named Martha Eubanks Harmon, b. 1820. They married in 1847. Three of the children listed, William, John, Nancy, would be from another mother. They are too old to belong to Martha. Children of Daniel/David and Martha : Jesse J b. 1848 George H b. 1849 Louis A b. 1854 David b. 1856 Susan b. 1857 Hannah b. 1859 Mary b. 1862 Andrew J. b. 1866 Martha Alice b. 1870 Daniel/David died between 1870 when he was on the census and 1880 when Martha lists herself as a widow. They were in Bollinger County, Missouri. I can find no record of his death or burial. With such common names and my novice abilities, i'm not sure where to go next. I just want to find out where he is from and who his parents are. Any suggestions, hints, or help would be greatly appreciated. I just cant imagine a man that had this many children doesn't have another descendant out there trying to figure this all out. Thank you in advance. Notify Administrator about this message?
