Lori,

To date no one researching the Heaths has been able to connect her to her parents--she was so young when they married! I tried, but got this info from another individual about the various Jordans in Cabell Co VA at the time, and none of them that we know of had a Sarah, but that was of course when census showed 'check' marks and not names. Here's all I have on the Jordans of Cabell Co VA. If you ever figure it out, let me know. While they did marry awfully young--they did stay married their entire lives and had many children. Here's the info from another individual:

There was a Jonathan and a John. According to Cabell County land records, on March 4, 1813 in four separate transactions, James Senr. sold John Jordan 100 acres (for $1), Andrew Jordan 150 acres (for $1), Jonathon Jordan 150 acres (for $1) and James Jordan 125 acres (also for $1).

The 1820 census of Cabell County records that John Jordan had a household with 1 male aged 45 or over, 2 males 26-45, 1 female 26-45, 1 female 16-26, 2 females 10-16, and 4 females under 10.

James Jordan Sr. and his sons moved to the part of Kanawha County that was later to be made Cabell County in 1798 from Greenbrier County, West Virginia. James probably arrived in Greenbrier County around 1770 and is often mentioned in Greenbrier land and court records between then and his move to Kanawha County. This family is a bit tricky to track in Greenbrier County, however, since there were three James Jordans living in there in the 1790s and apparently two of them had sons named John. One John married Catherine Blair in Greenbrier County in 1795; the other John married Elizabeth Newman in 1798. I know they were two different men because in order to get married, the latter needed his father's (James') sworn statement that he was over 21 (in 1798). Marriage bonds for both couples can be found at the following link:

I don't know for sure, however, which John was the son of the James Sr. who gave away his Cabell County land in 1813. Other researchers have indicated that it was the John who was married to Catherine Blair, but I haven't seen any evidence to support that.
